21st January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with one person who used the service. This person told us that they had previously had a fear of visiting dentists but they found this dentist to be "very good". The person told us that they liked the way the dentist dealt with them and had given them an opportunity to discuss their previous dental experiences which had caused some anxiety. The person told us that they were given treatment options if they were required and with support from the dental team they made a decision about what treatment they wished to receive. They also told us that they felt the practice was clean and "immaculate".

We found that appropriate arrangements were in place to deal with consent, and people's treatment plans reflected the treatment they received. We found there was guidance in place around infection control and appropriate checks were completed on staff backgrounds to ensure they were suitable for their role. We also found that the provider had an appropriate system in place to monitor the quality provisions that the service offered.
