7th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People who we spoke with told us that they were aware of the treatment options available to them because the dentist always explained them in a way which was easily understood.

We examined evidence which demonstrated to us that before people received any care or treatment, they were asked for their consent.

We saw that people were involved in the planning of their own treatment at the surgery and that people were consulted about the treatment options available to them. People were informed of the risks and benefits of each treatment option suggested. One person we spoke with told us, "The dentist keeps me very well informed about my treatment. My family have been coming here for years and we wouldn't do if we didn't trust the dentist."

We saw that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection at the surgery.

Staff were suitably trained and supported to be able to offer appropriate care and support to people using services at Hall Farm Dental Surgery.

People were made aware about how to comment on the services provided at the surgery, and how they could make a complaint if they felt they wanted to.
