26th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People who attended the unit told us that they were very satisfied with the care and treatment they had received. One person said " It's really a good system, my doctor only referred me a couple of days ago and I got an appointment straight away" Another said " The staff have been marvellous very discrete".

Staff told us that they received regular training and updates by e learning and also newly appointed radiographers said that they got " On the spot training" from the more senior staff if they are dealing with something that they are unsure such as non routine procedure. They also commented that the manager of the unit was very supportive towards the team. One member of staff said “If we raise issues with the manager and he thinks its a good idea or a better way of working then our point of view is always considered and taken on board. He is very good at his job and really supports the staff here".

The environment was clean and tidy and measures were in place to control the risk of any cross infection to patients who were attending the unit.

We saw that people were given information leaflets about the unit and this included how to raise concerns if they were unhappy with the service.

21st December 2011 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

The visit took place because we were following up issues we had raised during the last

inspections in May 2011. Although there was one person in the waiting room we did not capture their views as they were waiting to go for a MRI, so we did not want to cause them any more anxiety.

5th May 2011 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We did not capture the views of people who use the service due to the procedure that people were waiting to receive and the anxiety this may cause to them.
