23rd December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Given the nature of this service we were not able to talk with people who had received treatment from staff at Event Paramedics Ltd. However staff we spoke with talked highly of the provider and reported they received good support and training from him. One commented, “It’s such a small company that it feels like a family and Rick, (the registered provider) is really interested in the well-being of his staff”. Another stated, “I’ve worked for other ambulance services and this one is well run by comparison”.

We found that the provider was compliant in all outcomes that we assessed. There were good infection controls procedures in place to protect people from the risk of infection; vehicles and medical equipment were serviced regularly and the provider’s recruitment procedures ensured that only staff with the right skills and training were employed to work for the service.

Given the nature of this service we were not able to talk with people who had received support from the provider. However we did speak with two people who were responsible for commissioning services from them and received very positive feedback. One person reported, “They are brilliant and totally reliable. We always get good feedback from people they have seen and I would highly recommend them”. Another person reported, “They are reliable, punctual and communication with them is good. This is especially important as their staff have to cover quite a few playing fields at the one time”.

We found that the provider was compliant in all outcome areas we assessed. We noted that there were systems in place to ensure that people received a good quality, safe service from staff who were well trained and experienced in their role.
