4th March 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with six patients who used the service, the principal dentist, the general manager, the practice manager and the dental nurses.

Patients told us that they were involved in the planning of their care. One patient told us, "They cared about my problem. They listened and knew what I was talking about, we talked about the underlying problem and discussed my options. I now have a prescription to stop the pain".

Patients were assessed, and received treatment and oral health advice according to their individual needs. Patients told us they were satisfied with the service. One patient said, "The dentist is really nice and always explains everything to me. I am so happy with the treatment that they provide".

The practice was clean and hygienic and met all government guidance for infection control and decontamination. All of the patients we spoke with told us that they had no concerns with cleanliness at the practice.

We found that there were effective recruitment and selection processes in place for the selection and management of staff, and the staff had had the necessary recruitment checks.

The provider had systems for dealing with any complaints.
