20th May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with people who used the service and they told us that they were very happy with the care and treatment they received. One person told us that “The dentist is really into looking after and maintaining my own teeth and not doing unnecessary treatments”. People told us that staff were friendly and easy to get along with. They said “they’re a nice bunch of nurses, they always respect my wishes”. They told us that they were involved in planning their treatment and were able to make decisions about their dental care. They said that they received adequate information about their treatment and options available to them. They also received advice about how to care for their teeth in-between appointments.

We found the practice was clean and tidy. Infection control policies were in place and followed by all staff. Personal protective equipment was used appropriately by all staff.

Staff told us that they felt supported by the practice manager and dentists. We saw that staff received appropriate training and appraisal.

The provider had systems in place to monitor and assess the service provided and patients were able to provide feedback on the services received at each visit.
