19th December 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

This was the first inspection of the practice since its registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in April 2011. We (the CQC) spoke with three patients, the dentist (provider/owner), the manager and two staff. We also observed two patients during their treatment.

All the patients we spoke with during our inspection were positive about their experience. One patient described their experience as “fantastic” and added “It’s great. It’s my social life almost.” Another patient said that staff were “always professional”.

We saw and heard all staff interact with patients in a respectful and polite manner. We observed two patients during their treatment and all were treated in a caring and professional manner. It was evident that the team had a positive relationship with their patients.

Staff were aware of potential signs of abuse and the action to take. The dentist regularly audited infection control practice to ensure that the required standards were being met. There were plans to implement the regular audit of patient record quality standards with effect from December 2012.
