18th February 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Prior to our visit we reviewed all the information we had received from the provider. During the visit we spoke with two patients and asked them for their views. The practice manager also provided information about recent patient survey results following responses received during 2013. We also spoke with a dental nurse, the receptionist and a dentist. We looked at some of the records held in the service including some patient dental records and staff recruitment and training records.

Patients told us, “We have had a lot of treatment here, we feel very comfortable and reassured, and every time I have had treatment it is always done to a very high standard.” We found that the provider had ensured that staff were properly trained and supervised to deliver safe and effective care and treatment to ensure the welfare and safety of patients.

A patient told us, “I know I am safe here, I put my trust in them and feel comfortable.” We found that the provider had suitable arrangements in place to ensure that patients were safeguarded against the risk of abuse.

A patient commented, “Staff are very friendly, they put my children and I at ease. Staff comments included, “We are a great team, we always give the patient really good service.”

A patient told us, “The practice looks very clean, I have no issues with that, very clean, very welcoming.” Another patient told us, “It seems a very clean place, very relaxing and calming.” We found that there were systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.
