16th May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection, we spoke with the practice manager, one dentist, two dental nurses and the head receptionist. We also spoke with four people using the service during our visit.

All of the people we spoke with said that they were happy with the service they received. One person said "It’s my first visit here, I’m definitely coming back”. Another person told us that they had been using the practice for more than ten years. They added “I used to live close by, but now as travel in as I want to stay with this dentist”.

We found people's views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care. One person told us “it’s brilliant, they explain everything, and if I have any questions they go into a lot of detail.” People's privacy was respected and they experienced care, treatment and support which met their needs and protected their rights.

People were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed.

People were cared for by staff that were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. Staff told us that they were happy with the practice and enjoyed working there. One told us “I feel happy working here, I feel safe in the environment”.

The provider had an effective system in place to address any complaints that were received.
