4th March 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke to four people who used the service and they told us that the treatment they had received and way it was provided was good. People said "A very good service, I took a long time to choose the surgery and went to quite a few". "The attitude is fine and very friendly". "I have already recommended to others".

People said they were told about treatment choices and any risks that might arise from those that they chose. They were asked to sign that they consented to treatment before it took place.

People felt treated with dignity and respect by staff and said they had received consultations and treatment in private.

They did not tell us about the surgery infection control systems, number of staff at the surgery or complaints procedure, but were aware there was one.

People said the surgery was kept clean, tidy and was well maintained.

We found staff were approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. Records were up to date, accessible and demonstrated that they were well monitored.

The dental nurse demonstrated how infection was controlled and cross contamination prevented.

There were suitable numbers of qualified staff to meet people's needs and a functioning complaints procedure.
