25th October 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with five people who had just received treatment. When asked, people said that they felt their privacy had been maintained and their dignity respected. We were also told that staff had treated them sensitivity and with care. People consistently told us that they were happy with the service provided and that staff had been respectful, polite and courteous. There was no concern that confidentiality had been compromised.

Without exception we were told that the staff team communicated well and gave helpful information. One person said, “They are really good at explaining things. I had an X-ray today and was shown what was going on and what the options were”. Another younger person told us, “They communicate and talk with you rather than just with your parent”.

People spoke very highly of the staff team and expressed satisfaction with their treatment and care. Comments included: “They make you feel at ease. They are very professional and make you feel like a person not a patient”. Another person said. “All staff are very helpful and sympathetic especially if you are nervous, they always explain everything and tell you everything really well”. A third person said, ““Staff are always very friendly and make you feel at ease. They really get to know about you as a person”.
