13th December 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we spoke with five people attending the practice for appointments. They described the service as “splendid” and “fabulous.”

We met with the provider/dentist, two dentists and four dental nurses during our visit.

People said and we saw records which demonstrated people were well informed of the options available to them. People said they knew how much their treatment would cost.

People said they were asked about their medical history at each visit. This ensured the dentist was aware of any changes they needed to know about.

We observed people were welcomed warmly by all of the staff. We heard people being spoken to in a quiet and courteous manner. People spoke positively about their experiences of the reception and clinical staff.

The practice had appropriate drugs and equipment available in the event of a medical emergency. Staff received annual training on medical emergency procedures.

The practice had policies and procedures to safeguard children and adults. Staff were aware of the policies and where they could access information if they were concerned about someone’s safety.

People told us they were very happy with the standard of cleanliness at the practice. One person commented, “It is immaculate here.”
