16th January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We carried out this inspection to check on the care and welfare of people who used this service. Our inspection was discussed and arranged two days in advance. This was to ensure that we had time to see and speak to staff working at the practice and people registered with the service where possible.

We spoke with seven people after the inspection who all told us that the staff were always welcoming and friendly. One person said: “They are very professional and all the staff put you at ease”.

People told us they were fully involved in decisions about their treatment. They said that the dentist gave them information about their options and they felt comfortable to ask any questions about the treatments available. One person told us: "The dentist is brilliant and always explains what I need to have done and why”.

We saw that there were suitable standards of hygiene and infection control practices in place to reduce the risk of cross infection for people and staff.

Records showed that staff had access to a range of training to ensure their skills and knowledge were kept up to date.

We found that there were quality systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service provided.
