19th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

The dentists reported that he discussed people's dental treatment options and their costs with them prior to providing treatment and people using the service that we spoke with confirmed this. They said that the dentist "explained every step of the way" and that the costs of treatment were "clear". Written information was available about treatments and their costs. In recent patient feedback all respondents said they felt welcomed at the practice and that their views were respected.

People that we spoke with described the service as "great" and said that they had recommended the service to others. In the recent feedback all respondents said they would recommend the practice to others. In the written comments people described the service as "excellent" and "best of the best in professionalism". Relevant medical details were taken before people received treatment and follow-up appointments were arranged as necessary.

The practice was clean and tidy on the day of the inspection and in recent patient feedback all respondents agreed that the practice always looked clean and hygienic.

Staff received appropriate professional development. They undertook Continuing Professional Development training to maintain their professional registrations. They also undertook appropriate refresher training in mandatory topics such as infection control and basic life support.

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.
