13th March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We looked at information given to patients about treatment options, and whether patients had consented to treatment. We spoke with eight patients. They told us they were happy with the information provided and had given consent.

Four dentists work at the practice. We spoke with patients of all four dentists and asked whether they were satisfied with the treatment they had received. They were all very pleased with the treatment they had received. Typical comments included:

"My experience has been very good."

"The treatment was fantastic...they did what they said they were going to do."

"The dental nurses are very professional and courteous without going over the top."

"I'm very happy with the service."

We looked at cleanliness and infection control. We checked infection control records and observed infection control practices. We were assured the service was meeting good standards. All patients we spoke with told us the practice and equipment was always clean.

We checked a sample of staff records and spoke with staff. We were satisfied the service had recruited trained staff, and recruitment practice had met most of the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.

We saw that the service had good systems in place to monitor and assess the quality of service provided.
