16th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We were not able to speak to people who use the service as no one had an appointment booked on the day of our inspection. However, we looked at the provider's June 2013 feedback survey results and feedback questionnaires that had been collected for the July 2013 survey. These indicated that people were pleased with the treatment they had received. Comments included, "excellent as always" and "very satisfied with the service". There was written information available on the treatments provided and post-operative advice. People felt that procedures had been clearly explained and all of their queries or concerns had been resolved by staff.

People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment by suitably trained and qualified staff. Care and treatment was planned to ensure people's safety and welfare and there were arrangements in place to deal with emergencies. Where appropriate, people were referred to an alternative service for treatment.

There were systems in place to monitor the quality of service provided. A variety of audits had been undertaken and monthly feedback surveys were carried out. Where improvements could be made, these were discussed at practice meetings and acted on. The provider had followed appropriate guidance in relation to infection control. There were separate decontamination facilities and daily checklists were in place to ensure that the environment and decontamination equipment were in good working order.
