30th April 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We found that people were treated with respect and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

People expressed their satisfaction at the standard of service they received. One person told us, “They are very good at relaxing you and explaining procedures in a way that isn’t frightening”. Another person wrote, ’I’ve been with the practice for 36 years and the service is still excellent’.

We found that the service took account of people’s general health before recommending treatment. One person that we spoke with told us, “It’s a routine. I find myself sitting in the waiting room thinking about whether I’ve had any medical conditions I need to tell them about”. Another person told us, “The service is top class, very caring and extremely professional. They always provide top class advice and treatment”.

We saw that people were treated in a clean well maintained environment. Staff had been trained in safeguarding people from abuse and the provider had introduced procedures to minimise risk and promote the reporting of any concerns about abuse.

We saw that the service had a published a current statement of purpose identifying the nature of the regulated activity that took place. People told us that they had found no reason to complain about the service. One person said, “I have had nothing but good experiences. If I did have cause to complain I am certain that the problem would be resolved”. An effective complaints procedure was in place.
