1st March 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with three people attending the practice for treatment or dental checks. One of these explained that they had root canal treatment for infection and that this had relieved their pain. They said that the dentist explained everything that would happen and they found the whole experience to be “excellent”. They talked about the friendliness of staff and the quick response to their request for an emergency appointment. The person said that should they be unhappy about any aspect of their treatment they would not hesitate to complain.

Two young people we spoke with told us about their experiences. One of them had been referred to another practice within the organisation for orthodontic (tooth straightening) treatment. They were at Kerry Crescent for a routine check. The other person said they had attended two weeks earlier for a check and had returned for treatment. They told us that their appointment time had been delayed and that they had been given an explanation for this that they were happy with.

We spoke with one of the dental nurses who told us that the practice was a good place to work. They told us about the training they completed in relation to emergency procedures and safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
