30th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People's needs were assessed and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. We spoke with five adults and four children who all commented positively about the care and treatment they had received. They told us it was easy to make appointments and waiting times at the practice were minimal. One person said, “It is a pleasure to come to the dentist, it’s a lovely atmosphere and no waiting around.”

We saw that people were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance was available and had been followed. People we spoke with told us the practice was always clean and staff wore protective clothing when treating them.

Staff received appropriate professional development. We saw staff had accessed various training so they could meet people’s needs and maintain their professional qualifications. The people we spoke with said they thought staff were helpful, friendly and good at their job.

The practice had an effective well organised system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received. People we spoke with could not recall being asked for their opinion about the service they had received. However they all said they had no complaints about their treatment or how the practice operated. Annual surveys had been undertaken to gain people’s opinions and a comments box was available for people to share their views.
