3rd December 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with the senior dental nurse who was also clinical governance manager and six dental staff, including two dentists. We spoke with four patients following the inspection. The patients told us they had been happy with the service provided. Some comments were: ‘’Very, very good, cannot fault them. Very inviting atmosphere; always have time to speak to you before you see the dentist’’ and ‘’No complaints, always received good advice.’’

We saw patient experiences of their care and treatments captured through the April 2012 patient survey. We saw feedback from the satisfaction survey about the staff, facilities and the treatments received.

We saw the practice had systems in place to protect people from the risk of abuse. The practice had local adult safeguarding policies and procedures in place. The provider may like to note that we did not see a copy of the ‘Warwickshire Adult or Child Protection Procedures.’

The staff and dentists we spoke with said there were sufficient staff available to accommodate patient's needs. We saw patient’s needs had been assessed, risks identified and personalised plans of care developed for each person. There was evidence of specialist dental healthcare needs being met. We have asked that the provider may like to note our findings in relation to some expired resuscitation equipment, needles and airways and the current practice of the storage of drugs at the practice.
