20th February 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

As part of our inspection we spoke with two people using the service. People we spoke with were happy with the service provided by Lasercare Clinics (Harrogate) Limited, known as Sk:n Chelmsford.

One person told us staff were, “very friendly and professional,” and, “I would recommend it (the clinic).”

We found that the provider had arrangements for assessing and recording consent.

We saw that people's treatment and aftercare was planned, and progress was reviewed, with their involvement. Our inspection showed us that the service was safe and responsive.

We found that there were systems in place to ensure that equipment was used only by trained staff and was well maintained.

Staff were selected and recruited in a way that ensured they were suitably qualified and fit for the job.

We found that records relating to staff and people using the service were kept safely and securely. Records relating to the day to day running of the service were easily accessible.

3rd January 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We did not speak to people who used the service on this inspection. Regular surveys by the provider showed that people were very satisfied with the way they were treated. We observed staff interacting positively with people who used the service and provided them with plenty of time and information.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that ensured people's safety and welfare. The provider had treatment procedures and protocols in place that were up to date. We found that the clinic was clean and tidy and that staff understood the cleaning procedures to be followed.

We found that the staff were appropriately trained and supported and that the provider had quality assurance systems in place that included people who had used the service providing feedback.
