4th October 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People’s privacy and dignity were respected. We observed staff treating people with respect, being polite and courteous. There was a supportive and encouraging atmosphere between staff and the people who used the service. One person told us, “They don’t do anything without explaining it to me.” Another person told us, “They treat me with total respect; they have given me control back. One person said, I am not rushed, time is taken which relaxes me.”

People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights. We spoke with four people and they all told us they were more than happy with the care and treatment they received. One person told us, “I have never looked back since coming to this practice.” One person said, “Care and treatment is excellent, I totally trust them.” Another person told us, “I would never change dentists.”

People were treated in a clean, hygienic environment. The people we spoke with told us that and they had no concerns with the hygiene. One person told us, “The surgery is immaculate.”

People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff. Appropriate checks had been undertaken before staff began work.

There was an effective complaints system in place. Complaints people made were responded to appropriately. People told us if they had any concerns or complaints they would discuss them with members of staff and they were confident of using the complaints system.
