9th March 2015 - During an inspection in response to concerns pdf icon

We spoke to three members of staff during this inspection, including the practice manager. We did not speak to patients during this inspection. We looked at four surgeries, the decontamination rooms and public areas of the practice.

We undertook this inspection due to concerns about the standards of cleanliness reported by a patient. We undertook a responsive visit to inspect the standards of cleanliness and review the monitoring processes in place to ensure the practice was clean and hygienic.

We found the surgeries we looked in were mostly clean. There were processes to check the cleanliness of the practice and these focussed on individual staff responsibilities rather than a comprehensive check of all parts of the practice. There were some dirty areas in the decontamination rooms.

22nd February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke to three patients who received treatment on the day of our visit. All the patients we spoke to were very satisfied with the quality of care received. One patient said "The best dentist I've seen". We found the staff very professional and helpful and this was confirmed when we spoke to patients.

The three patients commented on how friendly and caring the practice staff were. One patient said the practice staff are "polite and friendly".

All three patients commented on the cleanliness of the practice. We found the practice very clean and tidy and free from clutter. One patient said the cleanliness is always very good and said "it is always good every time you go" All three people we spoke to would recommend the practice to their family or friends.

We found that all three patients were given appropriate information and choices about their treatment options and the associated costs. The prevention of dental problems was always emphasised by the dentists and other staff. One patient commented that "the dentists always shows you to improve things". This was confirmed when reviewing clinical records. All three patients commented how easy it was to make an appointment. One patient said said they only had to wait a short while for an appointment even when they had problems.
