24th January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection we met with one dentist, two dental nurses and one person who was attending an appointment at the practice. They told us "the dentist really cares about people. I was able to be seen by my dentist on Christmas Eve and there were lots of people in the waiting room with me."

People told us they were given options about treatment when they visited the dentist. We saw a range of patient information leaflets in the waiting room and reception area about the service provided. There was also information displayed about fees, complaints and general health advice.

People said they were always asked about their medical history each time they visited the practice. The dental nurse told us “it is really important we make sure this information is up to date. We give people a form to complete to confirm any changes in their medical history and we go through it with them."

People said they although they had not had reason to make a complaint, they were confident any concerns would be dealt with appropriately by the practice.
