17th January 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Patients told us that they had been fully involved in discussions with Mrs Sara Mousavi and the surgery staff about the treatments available to them and any costs involved. Patients said they felt that their privacy and dignity was respected by the staff who worked at the practice with appropriate time available for private consultation. Patients we spoke with were pleased with the service and treatment they received. One patient told us "Been here for years, very good, always get an appointment in good time." Another patient said "Someone texts to remind me of my appointment." We were also told, "Very good practice, it always seems clean."

We found that people felt fully involved in their care and treatment. We saw records that confirmed that all aspects of treatment were consented to, and signed by both the patient and staff.

The surgeries were clean and hygienic with appropriate dental equipment. We saw that the service followed the procedures and policies for infection control. All staff wore uniforms and were professional and respectful to the patients.

We looked at training records which showed that staff received the necessary training and skill development to help them perform their role safely and well. We also saw that staff were able to attend college to gain their dental nurse registration whilst working in the practice. Patients were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to a good standard.
