As part of the inspection we spoke to people using the service, family members and staff working at the practice.

People who use the service told us their privacy and dignity were respected and their views and opinions taken into account in the way the service was provided. One person told us, “The dentist personally asked me about my medical history. He explained what needed doing. I always feel I can have my say”. Another person said, "My treatment always takes place in private away from the waiting room”.

Peoples’ needs were assessed and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their treatment needs. One person told us, “The dentist checks what needs doing, he explains it to me and then I say whether I want the treatment or not”.

People who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

People were protected from the risk of infection because systems were in place to protect them against infections and the provider and his team demonstrated a willingness to immediately address the concerns we identified.

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment. One person said, “The staff know how to do their jobs well”.
