22nd January 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During our inspection visit we spoke with two dentists, one dental nurse, the practice manager and one person using the service. We also read comments from people who have used the service within the past year, which were positive about the quality of their treatment and care. The person using the service told us, "it was very easy to book an appointment, they were friendly and put me at my ease."

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. The person we spoke with confirmed they had been asked about their medical history and consulted about their proposed treatment plan. The comments we read from people who used the service described Malmin Dental as being "excellent" and "very professional."

Staff understood how to protect vulnerable adults and children from the risk of abuse.

The premises were clean and there were systems in place to minimise the risk of infection.

People using the service were protected by the service carrying out safe recruitment practices.

Information was available to advise people how to make comments and complaints, and there were procedures in place for the service to investigate and resolve any complaints.
