19th March 2013 - During a routine inspection

We spoke with parents who were accompanying their children to an appointment with their orthodontist. We spoke with three members of staff and an orthodontist. We also looked at records which included patient’s treatment records, records of staff meetings and information about how the service operated.

Patients told us that they felt the orthodontist respected their opinions and felt that they were fully involved in the decisions made about their dental care regime. They also told us that they were very satisfied with the quality of the treatment provided at the practice and felt confident that any issues of concern or complaints would be addressed to their satisfaction.

Comments made by the parents of children who were attending an appointment with their orthodontist included, “They take account of what she says. We are not rushed at all. I find staff kind and considerate.” Another said, “I have been satisfied with everything; staff respect our wishes and opinions. There are information leaflets everywhere. It’s an excellent service.”
