11th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two people using the service during our visit. They both felt the dentist took their time in explaining their treatment plan. People using the service told us "the dentists are good" and "I am happy with my care". We looked at a three care plans during our visit. After an initial consultation, people were given a treatment plan which explained the cost of treatment. We saw that people had signed the treatment plan.

The premises were clean and well maintained. Staff had received training on infection control for dental surgeries and we observed a member of staff while they decontaminated some instruments.

We spoke with four members of staff during our visit and they told us they enjoyed working at the practice. We looked at a number of staff files and saw that staff had attended training that contributed to their Continued Professional Development (CPD).

We looked at questionnaires completed by people using the service. Some of the comments from people included "friendly", "excellent", and "good practice". The manager told us they reviewed questionnaires to improve the service and to encourage staff.
