24th January 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with people who were visiting the practice on the day of our inspection. The people we spoke with were happy with the care and treatment they received. People told us that the dentists working at the practice fully explained the treatments available to them and that they had provided signed consent to the treatment they had agreed on. People did not have any concerns about the quality of care being delivered. One person told us: "They are always friendly, polite, tell you everything you need to know." Another person said: "I have recommended the practice to people. They are good."

Staff working at the practice described a supportive environment and told us they felt adequately trained and qualified to carry out their roles. One staff member commented: "I'd say it was the best practice I've worked at. I've worked at a few." Another dental nurse told us: "We're a really good team."

We observed care and treatment being delivered at the practice and reviewed the policies and procedures in place. We saw that patient consent was obtained in all cases of treatment and that the practice had effective and up-to-date policies and procedures in place which staff working at the practice were familiar with.
