15th February 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

The practice staff were very friendly welcoming and informative. The practice was very clean and had been completely refurbished last year to a very high standard.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk of infection. The decontamination of instruments took place in separate decontamination rooms. Staff were able to describe the decontamination process to us and provide evidence to show the correct checks were carried out on the equipment used for decontamination.

We spoke to two patients who told us the staff were helpful and listened to you and they were given appropriate information regarding their treatment options and cost.

One patient told us "The staff always look professional and the practice is very clean, tidy and swish". The patient's had consented to treatment and the staff were well trained and caring.

The practice had monthly staff meetings which were formal with agendas and documented minutes, the nurses also hold monthly meetings as do the administrative staff. We saw the minutes of these meetings which showed that the practice was continuously seeking to improve it's service to patients.
