15th August 2014 - During a routine inspection
We visited Mediskills Training Limited (MTL) on 15 August 2014 to follow up on the progress that had been made since the provider was issued with compliance actions following our inspection on 20 September 2013 during which we found that the service was not meeting the standards required relating to safeguarding people who use services from abuse and requirements relating to workers. We were unable to speak with people who use the service at the time of this inspection because MTL provided services, primarily at large organised events such as music festivals and rugby matches. Most of these types of events are held at weekends or particular seasonal holiday periods.
20th September 2013 - During a routine inspection
We were unable to speak with people who use the service at the time of this inspection because Mediskills Training Limited (MTL) provided a service primarily at large organised events such as music festivals and rugby matches. Most of these types of events are held at week-ends or particular seasonal holiday periods. We saw feedback from one parent who attended one of the events supported by MTL. Their comments included: “…..was shown kindness and respect in giving them pertinent information on their condition in an acceptable manner. They acted with professionalism and courtesy.” We found that the service gained people's consent prior to any treatment being offered or given. We found that staff employed by MTL required further training in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Vehicles and equipment provided for use at public events were appropriately maintained. Recruitment for staff employed by MTL was not robust enough.
