21st March 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with five people and asked them about their experience of treatment at the practice. We also spoke with a dentist, practice manager, lead nurse and two dental nurses about the practice.

People that used the practice told us that they were supported to be involved in all aspects of their treatment. Everyone told us that they would recommend the practice to other people. One person told us they had been with the practice for a long time and commented, “I can’t think of any reason to fault the service I receive. My family are also satisfied with their treatment.”

People received care and treatment that was planned to meet their needs. Any change in people’s medical and dental health needs was taken into account when planning any treatment. We saw that people’s dental records provided a clear record of treatment provided.

The practice had procedures in place to provide a clean environment for people’s dental care and treatment.

People we spoke with said the practice was clean and hygienic and they were satisfied with the standards of cleanliness. One person told us, "The whole centre is spotlessly clean.”

Staff received regular training to enable them to keep up to date with current working practices. Appraisal and regular staff meetings helped to ensure that staff received support to be able to do their job.
