25th April 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People we spoke with told us that they were involved in their care and treatment. One person told us, "The dentist always explains what treatment I need and gave me a treatment plan so that I understand the fees". Another person told us, "The dentist went through the procedure at my last appointment and outlined the fees".

Staff we spoke with told us how they reassured people who were anxious and listened to peoples wishes. People told us that they were treated respectfully by all staff at the service. One person told us, "I am nervous when I come to the dentist, but the staff put me at ease and make me feel comfortable". Another person told us, "The dentist I see is very reassuring and always listens to by opinions".

The provider had systems in place to ensure that people who used the service were protected from the risk of infection. Staff we spoke with told us how they ensured that equipment was decontaminated effectively.

Staff we spoke with told us that they felt supported by the management to develop in their role and undertake further professional development.

We found that the provider had effective systems in place to assess and monitor the service provided.
