24th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Patients we spoke with told us they were happy with the service they received from the practice. Comments from patients included “It’s bang on”, the staff are “all very pleasant down there”, and “The dentist is very pleasant”.

Information was on display to patients about what the practice provided, the name of the dentist and how to make a complaint. We saw that patients were involved in making decisions about their treatment.

Staff knew what action to take in the event of needing to report any safeguarding concerns.

We saw that there were systems in place to maintain the hygiene of the surgery and dental instruments used. However, we found patients were not always protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had not always been followed in relation to one sink and maintaining the integrity of the covering to the dental chair.

There were systems in place to monitor service delivery and the health and safety of the environment.
