11th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We visited Mortiboys Dental Spa to look at the care and treatment provided to people who used the service.

All the people we spoke with were very happy with the service. One person told us “I was a nervous patient before coming here, they are really good dentists.” Another person said “This is a very good, caring and professional practice. Nothing is rushed and I feel relaxed.” A third person told us “They are very organised and get me back for regular check-ups. They are really on top of patient care here.”

People told us that they felt respected by staff, and were able to take part in decisions about their treatment. One person told us “The practice is very good; all the dentists I have seen have talked with me about my treatment. They always tell me what they are doing as they give treatment.”

People told us that their treatment plans were discussed with them, and they had signed to say they agreed. Medical histories were reviewed before treatment was given. People said they were able to get appointments when they needed them.

The people we spoke with told us they felt safe with the staff.

We saw that rooms were clean, and well maintained. People we spoke with were happy with the standard of cleanliness in the practice.

We saw that records of qualifications, criminal record checks and professional registrations were up to date.

All the people we spoke with were happy with the service, and had never felt the need to make a complaint.
