18th September 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We were unable to speak with patients treated by the provider due to the nature of the service provided. We did however speak to a member of staff, who is sub contracted to work with the service. The feedback was positive, they felt the ambulance was well stocked, service and maintained and that the service overall was well run.

We looked at the organisation records and saw that they were in place and completed.

We reviewed the checks that the service made on their freelance staff and found these to be consistent and robust.

We also looked at policies and procedures that were in place to support the service such as management of blood spillage and infection control. We also saw that the right auditing and checks were in place to ensure that the service ran safely.

12th November 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We were unable to speak with patients treated by the provider due to the nature of the service provided. We did however speak to staff, who were sub contracted to work with the service.

The feedback from the staff was very positive they felt the provider was supportive and that the service was well run. They made comments such as “It is a very reputable organisation, David (the provider) listens to you and takes your advice and changes things.” And "In my experience this is well run. The ambulance is very well stocked for an event and further supplies are in place when we need them."

We also looked at the organisation records and saw that they were in place and completed. We saw that there were policies and procedures in place to support the service.

We also saw evidence that important areas were audited such as equipment and essential medical supplies. We looked at the ambulance and found that this was clean and the vehicle well maintained. We did however suggest that a cleaning schedule should be put into place to make sure that all areas were regularly cleansed.
