15th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Before people received any care or treatment, they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes.

One patient told us, “The dentist explains to me what needs to be done before treatment. I give him consent at my next visit before he proceeds”.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare.

We spoke with one patient who used the practice about their experience on the day of our visit. They told us that they liked the practice. They commented, "I have been using this practice for many years, the staff are very good excellent in fact. I get appointments when I need them and they answer the phone on time. They are very pleasant”.

People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.

Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work.

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
