24th January 2013 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

As the main purpose of this inspection was to assess improvements made in relation to shortfalls identified during our previous inspection of 10 October 2012, we did not request information directly from people using the service on this occasion.

Overall we found that Mr. Johnson had taken sufficient action to address the identified shortfalls in relation to safeguarding people and record keeping.

10th October 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Given the nature of this service we were not able to talk to people who had received paramedic support from Mr. Johnson. However, we did speak with one person who commissioned his service for their events. They reported, “I wouldn’t have anyone else at events. We can have up to 250 riders and horses at an event and I have complete faith that Mike (the provider) could handle any major disaster.”

Mr Johnson was compliant in four of the six outcomes we assessed. We found that improvements were needed to increase his knowledge and understanding of how to safeguard vulnerable adults and also in the storage arrangements of people’s medical records to ensure they were held safely and confidentially.
