11th September 2013 - During an inspection to make sure that the improvements required had been made pdf icon

When we last inspected in April 2013, we had concerns about the way in which consent was obtained for treatment in children when the parent or legal guardian was not present. At this inspection staff told us they sought consent from the parent or legal guardian via the telephone when the appointment was made. The practice consent policy also included guidance about obtaining consent from children.

At the last inspection in April 2013, we had concerns about the procedures for the cleaning and decontamination of dental equipment. At this inspection we found the provider had made changes to the decontamination room. They had installed a separate sink so staff could wash their hands. We also saw they had introduced a log book to record the daily, weekly and monthly tests that were required in order to show the equipment and procedures met the government guidelines.

During our visit we were able to speak with one person who had used the service for many years. The person told us that they were very happy with the service they received and found the staff to be "fabulous"

Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our inspection.
