24th February 2014 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

During the inspection we spoke with three dentists, three dental nurses, the receptionist and six people who used the service. The people we spoke with were all complimentary about the service they had received. One person told us, "Excellent service, the dentist is always very pleasant." another said, "I couldn't find a better dentist, very thoughtful and considerate."

People told us they could express their views and were given the information necessary to make informed decisions about their treatment. We looked at six individual dental treatment records. All showed the reasons why treatment was recommended, people's agreement to treatment choices and any oral health advice given.

Staff received a range of training so that they had up to date knowledge and skills in order to treat people safely when they attended the practice.

People told us that the practice was clean and tidy and that they had no concerns about hygiene. We found that the provider had effective infection control procedures in place. This meant the risk of infection for people using the service was minimised.
