17th October 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

People told us that they had been treated with respect whenever they had visited their dentist and that they understood the care and treatment choices that had been available to them. One person said, "My dentist explained the choices that I had and described how the treatment would be given and how much it would cost". Another person said, "The staff have always been respectful and courteous to me".

People's clinical notes showed that the dentist had made detailed clinical notes about the options people had and the choices people had made about their treatment.

The practice had not made any information available to inform people using the service about how children and vulnerable adults were being protected from harm.

The practice was clean and the infection control practices ensured that people were being protected from the risk of infection. We found that improvement work was taking place to the interior of the premises, although the majority of this work had been planned to take place when the surgery was closed. People said that the premises were satisfactory and although one person had made a negative comment, we could not find evidence for this and they had not made their comments known to the dental practice.
