24th September 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two patients who attended the practice and we looked at the feedback provided by patients. We observed a consultation between a dentist and a patient. We also spoke with the practice manager, a dentist and two dental nurses.

We found that patients were provided with appropriate information and support in relation to their care or treatment. Patients’ health was regularly assessed and staff were trained to deal with medical emergencies, ensuring patients welfare and safety.

The patients we spoke with were happy with the care and treatment they received. One patient told us, “All the staff are very friendly and the dentist is helpful.”

We found that patients were safeguarded against the risk of abuse. We saw that the provider had a safeguarding policy and procedure in place and staff had received appropriate training.

We found the dental team were maintaining a clean environment and monitoring the decontamination of equipment which ensured that patients were protected from the risk of infection.

The provider had systems in place to monitor and improve the service provided to patients.
