24th June 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spent time observing staff. We found they were very respectful in their approach; all were very polite and friendly with patients. The general atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed. In this way people were treated with dignity and respect.

We spoke with three patients on the day of our inspection. Comments included: “The service is OK, no problems” and “It’s fine.” We also looked at some completed patient comment cards. The comments were all very positive, for example, “This is an excellent service that should receive positive feedback.”

Staff were aware of their roles and responsibilities with regards to protecting people from abuse or the risk of abuse.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.

We spoke with four members of staff. They told us they felt supported. They said they felt able to approach the practice manager if they had any concerns or training needs and were listened to.

Patients said they hadn’t been formally asked for their views on the practice but they were happy if they had any concerns they could discuss them with staff.
