21st February 2013 - During a routine inspection

As part of the inspection we obtained the views of the people who used the service through five people completing a questionnaire on the day of our visit. They all told us that they were happy with the service provided. People said “Excellent”; “Brilliant”; and “Very good”. They also told us that they felt confident that both the dentists and the support staff were experienced and trained.

We looked at the paper and computer care records for five people. We found the records contained information including discussions about a person’s treatment to ensure that they had the treatment that was acceptable to them.

Systems and equipment were in place to ensure that people were treated in a clean and hygienic environment, with a separate decontamination room that was restricted to staff only. The people who completed a questionnaire told us that the practice was clean and that they were asked to wear protective equipment such as goggles and an apron.
