9th August 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We saw people were given appropriate information about the service and the care and treatment they received. We spoke with four people who used the service who told us they understood the care and treatment choices available to them. One person told us, "The dentist explained things well. I needed a few different treatments, and they explained why just one filling wasn't enough. It was all really clear."

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people’s safety and welfare. People told us they were happy with the care and treatments they had received. One person said, "I called up the day before. I told them I was in pain and they managed to get me an appointment the next day. I was pleased with everything. I'm glad that I was seen so quickly as I was really uncomfortable."

Staff training was kept up to date so that staff could care for people safely and to an appropriate standard.

We found people were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance had been followed and there was an effective system in place to monitor and assess the quality of the service.
