15th May 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

Patients spoken with told us they were given information and their treatment options were explained to them. They said they were given the opportunity to discuss their treatment with the dentist and make their own decisions. People said they were very happy with the care and treatment they received, they never felt rushed and their appointments were on time.

We found patients received care and support that met their needs. A patient described their care as, “Marvellous.” Another patient said, “I’ve been coming here since I was a child. I’m really satisfied with everything.”

We found the premises were kept clean and arrangements had been made to reduce the risk of infection. Two patients described the standards of cleaning and hygiene as, ”Excellent.”

Patients we spoke with told us staff were always polite and respectful and provided a good standard of care. One person said, “The staff don’t change very much and I always see my dentist. They are great; I’m never worried about coming.”

The practice had a complaints policy and took account of complaints and comments to improve the service. Patients told us they had been given information about complaints. Patients also told us they had no concerns with the quality of care and treatment they received.

Patient survey results suggested high levels of satisfaction with the practice, and there was evidence that patient views and suggestions were sought regularly and considered.
