10th July 2013 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke with two people who use the service and three members of staff. People were very positive about the service. One person said "I’ve been coming here for more than 20 years. It’s a very professional service.” Another person said “they really take time to explain what needs to be done, everything is up front and clear.”

People told us all of the staff were polite and friendly and always treated them with respect. People told us they had been given all the information they needed to make an informed decision about their treatment. We saw that people’s medical histories were updated at each inspection and they were given a copy of their treatment plan.

There were effective procedures in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection and people told us the premises were always clean and hygienic. People said staff always wore gloves and protective glasses during their treatment to minimise the risk of cross contamination.

The provider carried out all required checks to make sure that staff employed in the service were appropriately qualified and experienced to work with people.

The provider had an effective system to manager and respond to any complaints received from people using the service. People told us they understood the complaints procedure and we saw that complaints had been investigated and resolved where possible.
