Patients were all positive about their experience of using this dental surgery. The patients we spoke with had been visiting the practice for many years. Some patients had travelled considerable distances to attend the surgery having moved away from the local area. One patient told us "I cannot recommend them enough”.

We observed friendly and professional relationships between staff and patients and saw evidence that patients were fully involved in making decisions about their treatment. We found evidence that dentists gave their patients sufficient information about the treatment options available so that they could make an informed choice about their oral health.

Staff received regular training updates and were confident about their work. The practice had appropriate systems in place to manage emergencies and we saw evidence that equipment was routinely serviced and maintained.

Clinical staff maintained good standards of hygiene through the use of personal protective equipment and cleaning surgeries between patients. The practice was located in an older style building which presented some challenges in following recommended infection control procedures. We have asked the provider to make some improvements in this area.

Staff were recruited in accordance with legislative requirements which meant that patients could be assured that the people treating them had been appropriately checked and vetted.

The practice had a good system for the handling of complaints which meant that patients could be assured that they would be appropriately listened to and their opinions valued.
