6th December 2012 - During a routine inspection pdf icon

We spoke to five people who used the service. They told us they were satisfied with the care and treatment provided by the dentist. One person said, “I am very satisfied with the care and treatment I receive from the dentist.” “A second person said, “The care and treatment was excellent.” A third person said, “I am able to ask the dentist questions about my treatment and I always receive a satisfactory response.” A fourth person said, “The dentist is good.” “… picks up things quickly for example, if I am not brushing or flossing my teeth properly.” A fifth person said, “Staff make sure I understand the treatment. I don’t feel pressurised to make a decision.”

People said, “The practice was very clean and tidy”. One person said, “The light handles are covered with cling film which is changed between patients.”

The majority of the people we spoke with said they were aware of how to make a complaint. However, they have never had the need to make one.

We found the service had procedures in place to protect people from the risk of abuse. The service operated in a clean environment to prevent the spread of infection. People were looked after by staff who were appropriately recruited. There was a procedure in place to ensure complaints were responded to appropriately.
